Welcome to the Easter – Pentecost Daily Prayer Guide at LCF. It is designed to help you develop a daily rhythm of intentionally meeting with God morning and evening. Attached below is a PDF file designed for your smart phone's screen that you can use to track along with us (paper copies available on location).   Along with your bible you will find it helpful to also have a notebook and pen nearby to record prayer lists and reflections.

The Daily Prayer Guide is composed of several elements, and we invite you to as much as possible engage with each element, as each component provides a different facet to life with God. However, participating in some is better than participating in none!

  • Silence: a time of preparation, to turn our heart to God and make space to listen. Another way to prepare is through listening to a worship song.
  • Invocation: a short prayer and invitation to be read aloud
  • Scripture: a Psalm and daily Scripture reading
  • Prayers: time to talk with God! Morning and evening prayers focus on different elements of life with God. Evening prayers begin with a time of reflection on the day.
  • Listen: this is as vital a part of a healthy prayer life as speaking. Take time to hear what God is saying to you.
  • Respond: responding to God’s love and guidance can be in almost any form – journaling, singing, painting, thanksgiving…
  • Benediction: a short prayer and blessing to be read aloud

May the Lord bless your next fifty days of life together with him!

------------

Lord, you have always given bread for the coming day;

and though I am poor,

today, I believe.

Lord, you have always given strength for the coming day;

and though I am weak,

today, I believe.

Lord, you have always given peace for the coming day;

and though of anxious heart,

today, I believe.

Lord, you have always kept me safe in trials;

and now, tried as I am,

today, I believe.

Lord, you have always marked the road for the coming day;

and though it may be hidden,

today, I believe.

Lord, you have always lightened this darkness of mine;

and though the night is here,

today, I believe.

Lord, you have always spoken when the time was ripe;

and though you be silent now,

today, I believe.

Amen.
